Including youth on a mission trip is a powerful ministry vehicle; it changes lives-theirs, the adult leaders and the people who are served. St. John’s summer mission trip may include activities such as home repair, disaster relief and/or serving communities through food banks and any and all small jobs that are needed.
Each fall the youth suggest an area of the country to serve, research is done about mission in that area and several suggestions are provided. We may join a group that specializes in mission trips with other youth from all over the United States or serve others on our own.
All sorts of skills are learned; they may be carpentry, meal planning and cooking or even how to sweep a floor, to name a few. Youth take part in preparing and presenting devotions and worship each day. As the hands and feet of Jesus, we have served in West Virginia, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arizona, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. No matter where the destination, it’s a life-changing experience-spiritual growth, personal growth and faith in action.
In the spirit of community, service and sharing, the Nazareth Area Food Bank aims to provide for the needs of hungry people with dignity and compassion by gathering and sharing quality food. We support the Nazareth Area Food Bank with the collection of non-perishable items, typically on a monthly basis.
This pantry, a satellite location for Nazareth and Bath residents, is an opportunity for families and individuals to take home non-perishable/perishable food items. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
OPEN: 4th Saturday of month 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
